Repairing a ski base in the workshop
Scratch, impact, exposed core: base repair is part of the daily routine of a ski rental shop. Here are the equipment families in the catalogue and how to combine them.
From the gun to the automatic machine
- Wire overmoulding guns: the SKIMAN 2020 and the SKIMAN 40 (40 mm shoe width, automatic feed, 450 W), the COSKIRE iron (Ø 3 mm polyethylene wire, 35 mm shoe, 280 W).
- Stick guns: the RP 360 (Ø 11.5 mm sticks, 60 mm nozzle) and the B40 (40 mm nozzle). The sheets state that they are not suited to intensive use.
- Automatic machine: the POLYMAT PRO overmoulding machine detects each scratch by camera and melts material only on the damaged areas.
Fumes and consumables
The ARM1 and ARM2 filtration units capture repair fumes. As for consumables, the catalogue includes repair strips, base strips, heating plates, punches and glues.
After the repair, the base goes back through the base grinder to regain its flatness and structure, then to waxing.
